Utah Yamas Controls has released 2009 training schedule.
This year we have scheduled twenty four open enrollment courses consisting of DDC controls and Security topics. We have added an Energy Management and Control Techniques class this year that will teach students how to maximize the energy efficiency of their control systems. Our training center is available for private courses or lab sessions. Contact Utah Controls for details.


September 2008
Utah Yamas Controls holds “Users Group” Meetings.
Meetings were held Sept 17th in Boise, Sept 18th in St George and Sept 19th in SLC. We had many new software features and product demonstrations that we presented. We also had the new Square D lighting control system on display. We see a few of our competitors hold the occasional get together, but who else can say they have held this type of instructional meeting for over 15 years!

Utah Yamas Controls moves to our new location in St. George, Utah.
We are excited to be able to move to this new facility that includes a larger office and warehouse/panel assembly area. This new office will allow us to maintain a larger parts inventory and service stock for Southern Utah. St. George continues to be an area of growth for Utah Yamas Controls and we are committed to provide local service and product offerings. Utah Controls awarded contract for Fifth District Courthouse in St. George.
Utah Controls will be providing the HVAC Controls for this new facility. Utah Controls has completed many court houses in the past few years including Ogden, Jordan, Logan, Tooele and many others for the State of Utah. We are looking forward to working with our friends at PHE Mechanical on this new historic building.


December 2007
Utah Yamas Controls signs an agreement with Pioneer Interactive for service dispatch software and mobile devices.
The Star Tech service software provided by Pioneer Interactive will allow us to better serve our customers by allowing us to give real time reports to our customers and a history of the services provided. This new software along with our GPS vehicle tracking system will also allow our dispatch operator to identify what technician is available and the nearest to the call location and will also give us a report of the actual hours the technician was on site.


July 2007
Utah Controls Inc. acquires Yamas Controls Intermountain.
The acquisition includes the Salt Lake City, Boise and St George offices. The combination of Utah Controls and Yamas Controls will have a positive impact on our customers who will benefit from:
  • Shared product lines
  • Expanded TAC product offerings: Vista, I/A, Andover, INET
  • Complete solutions that include: HVAC, Security, Fire and Energy Control Sys.
  • Increased technical and installation resources
Moving forward, Utah Controls and Yamas Controls will continue strategies that support open solutions for both environmental and security control products.

June 2007
Utah Controls awarded contract for new Wasatch High School.
Utah Controls will be providing the HVAC Controls, Access Control, Security and CCTV systems for the newest school in the Wasatch School District. All of the sub systems will be integrated together as one seamless operators interface. Utah Controls has completed many projects for the Wasatch School District and is excited to have been chosen for this premier project.


June 2007
Utah Controls has been awarded an Energy Initiative Project for Salt Lake City Corporation.
This multi-million dollar project includes a LonWorks based DDC control system, variable frequency drives, lighting control restoration of the historic City and County building, Plaza 349 and Senior Center. This project will be an extension of the existing TAC Vista control system installed throughout the city.


May 2007
Utah Controls has been awarded a Fire Alarm System upgrade and retrofit for the Murray School District’s Horizon and Osmond Elementary Schools.
These schools will be retrofitted with an intelligent and addressable Intelliknight system from Silent Knight. Utah Controls has completed many projects for the Murray School District and we are please to have been chosen for this project.

Utah Controls has completed new training center.
Utah Controls has finished our new training center in our facility in Draper, Utah. The new training center is larger and incorporates all of the system courses that we have offered in the past. We will teach 28 classes this year and have added new courses in Open Systems technologies and networking. We will be adding additional classes in the future, so check our web site for class schedules and offerings.
